2 Chorn. 7:12-14
"Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and have chose this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
When I shut up heaven and there be no rain, or command locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

In our text, we see that when Solomon has finish building the temple that God came to him by night and chose the temple as His house of sacrifice.
Then God informed Solomon that he would show HIS power and His Grace in this place unto all of His people whom had literally came to the point in their lives, were they had sinned so much in their lives, that it has cause Him to bring all types of disasters on their lives, and now they are feeling like they are in a HOLE that they made for themselves, and is now looking up knowing that they can not climb out of this HOLE by themselves.

But God informs Solomon that if His people finds themselves in this HOLE that if they will follow this ROAD MAP (per say) that He will reached down and hear their prayer, forgive their sin, and heal their land. But they must first Walk down "THE STREET CALLED HUMILITY" then turn right on "AN AVENUE CALLED PRAYER" and keep walking until you get to "SEEK HIS FACE PARKWAY" and there you will find  "TURN FROM YOUR WICKED WAYS CAFE"

Therefore I will be walking with you down this ROAD MAP in the next few devotions. May God Bless You and Keep You until we meet again.
Always remember that I love you and there is nothing you can do about it!!!!

The Street Called HUMILITY

READ 2 Chor. 7:12-14; Focus point of text: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves..."

God says in tis text if we want to get out of that HOLE we have placed ourselves into we must be willing to walk down The Street Called Humility.

Therefore, I would like to take the next few devotions to walk down this Road Map that God has given us that will enable us to climb out of this HOLE that we have placed ourselves in. Now in our text, the first place that God tells to go is The Street Called Humility.

We are called to walk down this street called Humility; but what exactly is Humility? And how do we walk in Humility? And what will be the results of HUMILITY?

What is HUMILITY? Humility is to make a right estimate of one's self. It is the exact opposite of pride.

Pride promotes self, rather than God. Humility promotes God rather than self.

Pride doesn't consider God in one's lifestyle. Humility considers God as his lifestyle

Pride does not consult God in decisions. Humility consults God in all decisions.

To truly understand what is humility, we must first understand that God has all rights, and I only have all responsibilities!

Now the million dollar question is, how can we do this? How can we as men and women who have been controlling our own lives all our lives; get to the point where we give up control over our lives?

First, we must have a sacrificial nature. We must be willing to sacrifice our desire to be accepted by this world.

We must sacrifice our desire to always be seen; our desire to walk in this world like we are ALL OF THAT !!!

We must be willing to sacrifice our PRIDE and willing to "cast all our cares on God, because He cares for us."

So we do so by carefully watching our hearts. So whenever our hearts starts to be anxious about the future, we preach to our hearts and say, "Heart who do you think you are to be afraid of the future and nullify the promise of God? NO HEART!!! I will not exalt myself with anxiety. I will humble myself in peace and joy as I trust this precious and great promise of God- for He cares for me!

Then we will see the results of HUMILITY being activated in our lives.

When we truly apply Humility in our lives, the results will be that the GRACE, the FORGIVENESS, the BLESSINGS of God will be activated in our lives.

"then I will hear from heaven, will forgive there sin, and will heal the land."

The Avenue Called Prayer

In 2 Chor. 7:12-14 God in His Grace decided t show Solomon a Road Map that if His people find themselves in a HOLE that they have placed themselves in because of their sins, and they had made God bring all types of disasters in their lives. If His people would walk down the Street Called HUMILITY, and make a right turn onto the Avenue Called Prayer, and keep walking until they reach Seek His Face Parkway there they will find Turn From Your Wicked Ways Café. Then He will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

Therefore, we have walked down the Street Called Humility, and  now we are ready to make that right turn onto the Avenue Called Prayer:

READ James 4:1-10: Of all the things a believer can learn to do in this life, the most important thing is to learn to PRAY!!! Everything hinges on our ability to pray prayers that are heard and answered by God. Therefore, as we walk down the Avenue called Prayer we are going to have to avoid some Road Blocks and some obstacles that we will encounter.

The first Road Block we must avoid is FORSAKEN PRAYING read James 4:1-2
Here is a people who are going after life. They are trying to get everything they can by any means they can.
They fight, they scheme, they plan, they kill, they work, they war, and they hate all in an effort to get the things they think they need.
James tells us that we lack the things we are after in life simply because we do not ask for them.

A little boy was trying with all his might to move a large stone. His muscles were straining, sweat covered his face and brow as he tried with everything he had to move that stone.
His Father sat nearby watching all this with mild amusement. after a while he said son, "Son, are you using all of your strength?" The little boy answered, "Yes, I'm using all the strength I have!" His father said, "No, you really aren't son. You haven't asked me to help!"

could it be that we too have failed at a obvious point? Could it be that we have failed to call on the Father and enlist His help in the situation?

The second Road Block that we need to avoid while we're walking down this Avenue Called Prayer is FOOLISH PRAYING read James 4:3-4
Now, James tells us that there are times when we do pray and still don't get what we ask for because we ask from a wrong motive.
We are asking for things that promote and satisfy self.

Imagine a man and a woman get married, they are in love and things go well for a while. After a time, the wife develops a roving eye. She finds her another man and begins to spend her time with him and to give him her love. Now, suppose while living this way she goes back to her husband and asks him for things like money, a car to drive, a place to live, etc. What do you think his response will be?

Well, when you and I were saved, we became the bride of Christ, 2 Cor. 11:2. We are to remain pure and unspotted from the world.
WHEN WE COMMIT SPIRITUAL ADULTERY against the Lord, it will mean that our prayers will go unanswered, because we are just making a bunch of FOOLISH PRAYERS!!

While walking down this Avenue Called Prayer we must avoid these Road Blocks of FORSAKING PRAYING and FOOLISH PRAYING because if we are going to come out of this HOLE we have placed ourselves in, we must learn to truly walk down this Avenue on our KNEES as we ADOPT FAITHFUL PRAYING.
CONCLUSION: READ James 4:5-10 The conclusion to this whole matter is that we need to take this matter of prayer seriously!
In all honesty, when was the last time you wept over sinners? When was the last time you fasted and prayed to know the mind of God?
When was the last time that sleep evaded you and a spirit of prayer took you unto the battlefield for others?
When was the last time you, like Jacob, got hold of God for something and refused to let go until He answered?
May the Lord forgive our weak praying! There's something about those prayers that really means business! God knows our hearts and our motives. If we need to get serious about prayer and make it our top priority!

SEEK MY FACE PARKWAY

My Last Entrée we talked about "Walking down the Avenue called Prayer." Now we are going to talk about what God means  and what we are to do when God tells us to turn onto "SEEK HIS FACE PARKWAY." Therefore, the first thing that we must know in order for us to turn down Seek His Face Parkway is what actually God means when He says to us to seek His Face.
SEEKING GOD'S FACE means that you see God as God really is-- it means that we brush aside all our perceptions and illusions and doubts that affect our vision and that we see the real and true God standing before us. As the old song says, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone"--that's the heart of seeking the face of God---getting rid of everything that is blocking our vision so we can see the Son of God.
